The beginnings of Immundus as a Ghost Ambient-genre recording artist began in 2003 when he took a self-imposed exile from playing bass and singing (or “growling,” as he says) in metal bands, to move to Norway and capture the ethereal musical soundscapes he’d heard in his head for years but never had the chance to create. Three years later, the solo project he dubbed Immundus sprung up from Immundus’ desire (real name, Bruno Duarte) to tap into the spookiness and mystery of life.
Ambient & Drone
3-song Poem by Immundus
Simulcara "There Is A Fountain Filled With Blood"
Nearly 45 minutes of dark droning soundscapes, where once in a while lighter ambient passages penetrate the darkness. "Giant plateaus are slowly moving, reverberating the air with deep subterranean drones, flowing and ebbing in slow waves taking you a little deeper all the time in this sonic experience... Inside a Void is Belgian dark ambient act Simulacra back with red drones from a fountain filled with blood... There is a Fountain Filled With Blood does sound deeper and wider which makes the atmosphere more intense, darker and oppressive. These graphic drones are slowly moving as they are heavy in weight under their monolithic structure.
Colin Potter/Phil Mouldycliff "Grey Skies On Ashpalt"
Edition of 300 numbered copies. Colin Potter is sitting in a room, different than the one you are in now, and he is piloting that room to the crushing depths of inner space with fellow sound artist Phil Mouldycliff. The wizard will see you now. There methods seems so innocent at the outset with the simple layering of a street scene over the sounds of intermission spill-off (or whatever), but the quiet, ambient din of crowd soon becomes a decaying continuo beneath a soft filigree of high-lonesome guitar (?).
Ysrel "Requiem for the 3 Kharites" out now on Aurora Borealis
YRSEL create complex, multi layered and highly atmospheric music that fully explodes the genres of drone, doom, and electronica resulting in a glorious glacial melt of sound and texture. YRSEL is a collaboration between THE AUSTRASIAN GOAT, primarily an experimental Doom/Black Metal project, and ONDO, an equally prolific dark electronica project. Conceptually, the album deals with the Three Graces (Kharites) of Greekmythology, symbols of grace, beauty, pleasure, and the creative impulse.
Robert Rich's first solo studio album in almost three years
Robert Rich's first solo studio album in almost three years is available through artist's website. The title comes from ylang ylang, a flowering tree that grows in South Asia, with a mysterious fragrance that embodies elements of shadow and light, eros and gnosis, earth and sky. Ylang pushes the boundaries of Robert's melodic world-fusion vocabulary, such as on Seven Veils or Propagation. Ylang blends Rich's expressive steel guitar, shimmering organic electronics and yearning flute melodies with influences as diverse as south Indian Karnatic music, pulsing minimalism and pensive jazz; while its deconstructed drums and blurry guitar feedback might feel at home with Sigur Ros or Bark Psychosis.
Preceding the Imaginary by Dmitriy Rodionov
Guitarist Dmitriy Rodionov founded a project "Lenin & I" in 1999 in Snezhinsk. Music, or so to say, musical experiments by Dmitriy Rodionov, who is the only member of "Lenin & I" may be characterized as "industrial noise ambient". These are noise pictures made with the help of natural and artificial sounds, noise, voices and different acoustic an electric instruments, combined in a sort of a collage. Dmitriy Rodionovâs musical experiments of are mainly autobiographic and each of them has its story. All the compositions of an album are usually unified with one conception.
