In A Mindset is the moniker of 27 year old Steven. The project was raised in 2009, after playing in various metal bands (FTE, Mortheim and still active in Serapeum), he decided to create something new inspired by various sound installation artists. His works range from dark ambient and neoclassical influences to industrial, noise textures and technoid/abstract rhythms. Allthough, sharing a huge love for the metal underground scene, making electronic music became a huge part of his life the last 3 years. Today he published post on his blog related to new album.
"So yeah, finally... I did the tracklist and worked out a concept. The album will be entitled "Artifacts" and contains the following tracks:
Transition
S_Cell
Pale Lights
Godsoaked (´10)
K-Radiation
Everything you left me (`10)
Devastation_001
The lost opposite
Node 3.7 (`10)
The Ravines Below
Compartments
Reconciliation
Artifacts
Almost all of the percussion parts and drum tracks have been recorded, 6 tracks are complete. I also accept remix requests and might include them as bonus tracks, so let me know If you`re interested and send me a mail for further information. I`m thinking
about releasing a 3 Track EP on Abstrakt Reflections way before the album is going to be released (on another label, as a sideline) since it will not be out until the end of this year.
I hope for a possible release date in autumn, though."
If you would have a time to spend on his Myspace's profile, check out especially "Godsoaked" and "Node 3.7" tracks. Smoothly flying digital atmosphere, kept by metalic-sound percussion and rhythmic loops. Steven used comparison with sounds of dying robots. There is something in it, but music of In A Mindset is also very organic. Some samples seem to be fragile and soft, but they are creating coherent sound comglomerate together with strong, firm tones of rhythmic section. There is still no information what label will release upcoming material, but it is worth to look forward for this material.
