I was doing this interview for ikultura.net around summer time last year. Krass-T is French thrash/hard core band which was born in december 2003 as a guitar/drum duo but started regularly playing with a bassist and singer during 2004. Main influences being Pantera, Slayer, Autopsy, 80's Metallica and Sepultura, Kreator, AC/DC, some bands from the hardcore scene like Suicidal tendencies, Deviate and also some punk and rock band like The exploited, Berurier noir ,Nirvana... In fact, every good and efficient band also in music, attitude or ideas. The band's name comes from hypocrisy and ugliness of social links within a capitalist,money-making society in general searching for non-stop and quick profit instead of respecting peoples! All this shit making KRASS-T play some nervous and explosive metal hardcore to thrash frustrations and negativity in a positive way! Guitar riffs become more varied and "kicking ass" with time adding some loud and obssessed parts, sometimes sounding stupid or absurd, while the drums hammers and explodes in the back!KRASS-T plays varied metalcore between death, thrash, hardcore and punk. In live, it's energy, hysteria, self-control's losses and much sweat! I found this interview today and I think it is still worth to present in original version. First album entitled "Le jour du saigneur" is still available and bringing nice, raw power.

I see that feedbacks on your music are very good.but I wonder what is your own opinion about "le jour du Saigneur." What can surprise listeners, how do you think-what people like in your music?

With hindsight we are very satisfied with this first album. "Le jour du Saigneur" is a pure underground product with an old school challenging sound which began appealing to some. People like the music of "Krass-T" for its raw energy that takes its full extent live.In general it is the impact, the direct and primary brutality that surprises listeners and we try to create a live interaction,a jubilant and exciting disorder for both the group and the audience!

What does the title of your album mean? why did you choose this one? where the artwork of a man with blowing ears come from? is what it is one of the topics / themes of your music?

The title is a pun in french, Sunday mess is called "the day of the lord" by replacing "e" by giving it "a" it means "The day of the bleeder". The artwork is in reference to the song"criminal legal" but it is also a denunciation of religious fanaticism! This artwork is a quite contradictory representation which can be seen in different ways: 1 gang of extremists who torture a big bastard with decibels' shots (yes we are big bad boys...) or the power of a mechanical and hierarchical society, of a religion or a superior which "bleed" its people for their money, emptying their marrow to their cerebrale castration and annihilation of any critical thinking skills! But still very raw and extreme (because it makes us happy...), this kit can be interpreted differently (the front and back of the decor ...) and it perfectly represents power relations in a mechanical and outrageously hierarchical society:at all levels,it's always a few people abusing their power which "bleed" everybody else for their own profit by orienting the opinion and handling criticism. Glory, the idea that we made of success (social or otherwise ..), extreme fanaticism and power relationships in society are therefore a very large and almost inexhaustible subject that Krass-T just start to talk about in his lyrics! Except that the meager influence Krass-T can have is to create enthusiasm and interaction between a band and a public... while remaining lucid! Everyone will see the meaning he wants to see...

What are your concerts? I imagine there a lot of craziness and mosh in front and on the scene...

We love playing in concerts, Krass-T's music is a "défouloir" for the entire band and also the public, clearly everyone sweats in the mass hysteria.

What's in your lyrics? What topics were discussed here?

The topics are diverse and varied, it goes through a description of the loss of control on "du nerf", the bands who think that their image is more important than their music on"starifié", the horror of war on "the patriot "or religious fanaticism on"Le jour du saigneur".

And then, what are your nearest projects? Thank you for your time!

Play more and more away from home now that we know how to make musical meetings, compose new titles (already at work ...) and why not find a label interested in the music first and not in the commercial viability of a band or business to death. Thank you for allowing us to express ourselves, and good continuation for your webzine.
